MENASHA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Authorities have released the names of the two people killed in a house fire Thursday.
Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue says crews were called to the 700 block of Second Street just before 2:20 p.m. As they were fighting the fire, firefighters found the body of Ronald Wolf, 77. They later found Mary Wolf, 68, inside the house. She was pulled from the fire and taken to the hospital, where she died.
The fire itself was quickly controlled. Fire damage was mainly kep to the first floor, with smoke and heat damage in the rest of the house.
The fire department, along with Menasha police and the state fire marshal’s office, investigated the fire. They were unable to determine a cause, but do not believe any criminal activity led to the fire or the deaths.
