FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man previously convicted of domestic abuse was sentenced in Fond du Lac County for stabbing his girlfriend in a vehicle while she was driving.
James F K Allen, 34, was sentenced to 22 years in prison and an additional 20 years of extended supervision in the attempted homicide of his girlfriend.
According to the criminal complaint, Allen and his girlfriend were leaving a bar in Campbellsport on March 30, 2019, when they got into an argument as she was driving.
Allen pulled out a knife and began stabbing her in the neck while the vehicle was traveling at 55 mph, the complaint reads.
During sentencing, District Attorney Eric Toney said, “This attack is a frightening reminder of severity of domestic violence and we are thankful the victim was able to survive this vicious attack. I encourage those that have or are experiencing domestic abuse to reach out for assistance to an advocacy group, friends, family, or another trusted source. You are not alone and help is available.”
