GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man who lost a bid to become Outagamie County sheriff has been sentenced in a child pornography case.
Alexander P. Bebris, 51, of Denmark, was sentenced Friday to five years in federal prison.
Prosecutors say he shared child porn over Facebook Messenger. In December 2018, investigators searched Bebris’ Fox Crossing house and found child porn images on his computer.
Before moving to Wisconsin, Bebris had been public safety chief in Oakwood, Ohio. His 2018 campaign for Outagamie County sheriff ended with a loss in the Republican primary to eventual winner Clint Kriewaldt.
After his release from prison, Bebris will spend six years on supervised release. He will also have to register as a sex offender.
