(WNFL) – The Wisconsin Badgers rolled to an easy win over the Michigan Wolverines at Ann Arbor on Saturday.
Piling up a record number of points against Michigan in a 49-11 win over the Wolverines.
The first of the points came early for Wisconsin.
After punting on their first possession, the Badgers defense picked off Michigan quarterback John Milton on the Wolverines’ first play from scrimmage and turned it into a touchdown by Nakia Watson moments later.
The Badgers who led 28-0 at halftime piled up 468 yards of offense including 341 on the ground while the woeful Wolverines managed just 219 yards of offense with only 47 coming via running plays.
Freshman running back Jalen Berger led the Badgers with 87 yards rushing on 15 carries. John Chenal had 71 yards rushing on six carries while Watson and Danny Davis both had 65 yards rushing.
Graham Mertz completed 12-of-22 passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns.
Jake Ferguson caught four passes for a team-high 51 yards.

The Badgers won for the 5th time in their last 7 meetings with Michigan.
Wisconsin’s 38-point win was its largest-ever margin of victory over Michigan, surpassing the previous mark of 22 in a 34-12 win in Ann Arbor on Nov. 3, 1962.
The Badgers 49 points is also the most UW has ever scored against the Wolverines, surpassing the previous high of 48 in a 48-28 win on Nov. 20, 2010.
UW’s victory marked the first by the road team in the Wisconsin-Michigan series since the Badgers scored a 48-28 win over the Wolverines at the Big House in 2010.
Combined with last year’s 35-14 victory at Camp Randall Stadium, Wisconsin has recorded wins over Michigan in consecutive seasons for the fourth time in school history (1959-60, 1993-94, 2009-10)
