FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) — A man discovered unresponsive but breathing following a one-vehicle crash in Fond du Lac was suffering a gunshot wound to the leg, and police are trying to figure out why.
On Friday February 5, 2021 at about 2:01 a.m., Fond du Lac Police responded to the area of South Marr St at Sheboygan St for what came out as a single vehicle
crash. Officers arriving on the scene found a vehicle with substantial damage that had struck a light pole and several parking meters. The driver of the vehicle, a 39-year-old Fond du Lac man, was the lone occupant, and was found unresponsive but breathing.
The victim was transported to St. Agnes Hospital by Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Ambulance. Once at the Hospital, it was discovered the victim had a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was then transported by helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center.
Investigators are canvassing throughout the neighborhood where the crash occurred looking to identify anyone who may have information on this incident.
