ONEIDA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An Oneida Tribal police officer exchanged gunfire with a suspect who was behaving erratically in the department’s parking lot.
The state DOJ says around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Oneida Tribal Police Department Dispatch saw a person drive their vehicle into the police department’s parking lot.
That’s when they say a person got out of the vehicle and was acting erratically.
Dispatch then asked for an officer to return to the department to investigate the person in the parking lot.
When the officer arrived to the parking lot gunfire was exchanged between both parties.
The subject was hit and is being treated for serious injuries at a local hospital.
The officer was not injured.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice is investigating.
