FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man’s death in Fond du Lac earlier this month was a result of a drug deal gone bad, prosecutors allege.
Denell Logan, 30, and his girlfriend, Callie Bender, 29, are charged in connection with the Feb. 5 death of David Posey, 39. Posey was found with a gunshot wound to his leg after he crashed his car in Fond du Lac. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Prosecutors allege Posey went to Logan’s house to buy crack cocaine. While there, Bender told police Posey began to punch Logan and tried to rob them. Logan allegedly shot Posey with a gun Bender bought for him. Posey drove off and crashed his vehicle a few blocks away, the criminal complaint says.
Logan is charged (WARNING: Criminal complaints contain profanities) with first-degree intentional homicide, being a felon in possession of a gun and possession of THC, the active component of marijuana. Bender faces two counts of straw purchase of a firearm — she is accused of buying guns for Logan because he could not legally own them — one count of aiding a felon and one count of THC possession.
Logan and Bender are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
