GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Five people have been displaced following a garage fire on Green Bay’s east side.
Firefighters say they were dispatched to the 1000 block of Heyman Street shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday.
When initial crews arrived, heavy fire was seen coming from the garage area. Heavy smoke was also coming from the property’s home.
Several handlines were used to extinguish the fire from the exterior before it was put out from inside the home.
Firefighters consider the garage a “complete loss,” with the home sustaining heavy fire and smoke damage. Damage is estimated at $175,000, firefighters say.
No one was hurt, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
