NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Volunteers in Neenah are working on a variety of projects in the area.
It’s the 15th annual “Rock the Block” event in the Fox Valley.
The Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity looks to revitalize neighborhoods and encourage people to improve their city.
Volunteers will work on a number of projects at area homes, parks, schools and churches over the next few days.
“And it helps us not only in the houses that they improve, but with the community,” Neenah Mayor Dean Kaufert said. “They have done so many things for us, the bus stop, Washington Park, all the community oriented projects that they incorporate into their “Rock the Block” efforts. The rippling effect in the neighborhood, the rippling effect throughout the community, really, really improved the quality of life here in Neenah.”
Officials with the Habitat for Humanity group hopes to raise $2.5 million through 2021 to help transform eight neighborhoods in the Fox Valley.
