GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — It wasn’t a normal year at the Green Bay Area Public School District.
Summer school enrollment is up around 10% from pre-pandemic levels. All-virtual learning for a majority of the year has left some students struggling.
“Our summer school is really focused on the whole-child viewpoint,” said Lisa Johnson, the coordinator of extended learning at the district. “It is designed to meet the academic components as well as the emotional components as well.”
Green Bay Schools were all-virtual until the first week of April. Some parents complained that their students were feeling left behind, and grades slumped district-wide.
Summer School Enrollment is still underway. Classes for the first session begin on June 14th.
