SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two people are dead, including a teenager, after a crash involving a motorcycle.
The Wisconsin State Patrol has identified one of the victims in Saturday’s crash in Shawano County near Bonduel.
The deceased 36-year-old man from Appleton that was operating the motorcycle involved in the crash was identified as Adam Jason Brown. The 13-year-old passenger, who also died in the crash, has not been identified due to being a minor.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office says just after noon deputies witnessed the crash involving the motorcycle, a pickup truck, and a minivan on Highway 47 near Highline Road in the Town of Hartland.
Investigators believe the motorcycle struck the back of the pickup truck as it was heading south, causing the motorcycle to cross into northbound traffic where it was hit by the minivan.
A 71-year-old man driving the minivan and a 64-year-old female passenger, both from Shawano, were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
Authorities say a 65-year-old Black Creek man driving the pickup was not hurt.
Highway 47 was closed for a little more than four hours as deputies reconstructed the crash.
