MARINETTE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An Amberg woman died from injuries suffered in a crash Wednesday in a construction zone.
Sheriff’s officials say that around 11:40 a.m., calls were received about a three-vehicle crash in a paving construction zone on U.S. Highway 8 near Youngs Lake Road in the Town of Dunbar.
Investigators determined that at the time of the crash, eastbound traffic was being flagged to stop in the zone. An eastbound vehicle did not stop and crashed into a sedan, pushing it into a trailer.
Two people in the sedan and the driver of the vehicle that caused the crash were injured. Those in the pickup truck hauling the trailer were not hurt.
On Thursday, authorities were notified that the passenger in the sedan had died. The victim is identified as 59-year-old Jami Marie.
The crash remains under investigation.
