GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – It comes as positive COVID-19 cases in children are among the highest we’ve seen since last fall.
If you are looking to get your students vaccinated, Green Bay Public Schools is giving families the chance to do so.
“We wanted to make the vaccination process as easy for our families as possible,” said director of communications for GBAPSD, Lori Blakeslee.
She tells FOX 11 the District is hosting several first-dose clinics the next two weeks, with second-dose clinics at the same location three weeks later.
“We know some of our families have barriers such as transportation so by having clinics for families to be able to walk right to school, it really removes that barrier not only to have their child vaccinated but perhaps they maybe haven’t had the opportunity to get vaccinated themselves.”

Green Bay students who do become fully vaccinated, do not need to quarantine if they are a close contact and asymptomatic.
The district is partnering with Bellin Health to host clinics. The hospital system says it has already vaccinated upwards of 1,000 kids between five and 11 years old since they became eligible. The clinics will have doses for 5 to 11 years old available. As well as older students.
“We’re really looking to vaccinate the 12-year-old students, through the 18 years old, really focus on students for the most part,” said Sherry LaFond, primary care operations leader for Bellin Health.
She tells FOX 11 appointments for clinics are highly encouraged. But walk-ins will be accepted if there is availability in the schedule.
“We still want to keep focusing on all of those who have yet to get that first dose. so we’ll keep up our vaccination efforts as a long was we need them in a more mass vaccine site,” said LaFond.
The clinics will also be offering booster shots for faculty, and family members if needed.
