DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The De Pere Fire Department reporting five four people are displaced after a fire.
Crews responded to the 800 block of Ash St. just before 6:30 Wednesday night.
One person was injured while they were being evacuated and was taken to the hospital.
Smoke was coming from the upper and lower unit windows. The fire had extended to the attic of the structure before crews arrived.
The fire’s spread along with several building modifications became problematic for crews.
The DPFD says the cold temperatures also made it difficult to put out the fire. Crews dealt with extremely icy conditions throughout the incident.
No firefighters were injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
