MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Brown and Door counties are listed as having “high” COVID-19 levels — with face masks recommended indoors.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s map shows Brown and Door among 11 Wisconsin counties in the “high” level. At that level, the CDC recommends everyone wear a face mask in indoor public settings.
Outagamie, Winnebago, Kewaunee and Oconto counties are listed in the “medium” category. All other Northeast Wisconsin counties are listed as “low.”
Meanwhile, new case numbers statewide ended the work week on a downward trend. The state Department of Health Services reported 1,740 new cases on Thursday. The seven-day average fell to 1,639, its lowest level since May 31.
Seven-day average test positivity fell to 12%, its lowest level since May 6.
With three new deaths reported on Thursday, the seven-day average held at four.
Since the pandemic began, Wisconsin has reported nearly 1.5 million total cases and 13,058 deaths.
As of Friday, 64.5% of state residents had received at least one dose of vaccine, 61.3% had completed the initial vaccine series and 34.7% had received an additional or booster dose.
