ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) — Professional European Soccer is right around the corner at Lambeau Field.
FC Bayern Munich will take on Manchester City on Saturday in a friendly exhibition match.
Discover Green Bay’s Nick Meisner says it is expected to bring in around $10 million in economic impact, that’s a little less than a home Packer game.
“The figure we use for a home Packer game is typically around $15 million,” Meisner told WTAQ. “We won’t know the full economic impact [of the soccer game] until after the event.”
Discover Green Bay hopes to leverage the event to appeal to European tourists.
“The international market is hungry for travel to the so-called ‘real America’,” said Meisner. “It means a bigger profile on the international market.”
The game kicks off Saturday at 6:00.
