WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) — The semi-truck driver who drove off the interstate in Winnebago County, striking a house and leading to the death of an eight-month-old child had fainted behind the wheel.
That’s according to a report released Wednesday from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
They say the 63-year-old man behind the wheel was overcome by a medical condition. The semi was traveling south on Interstate-41 when it left the interstate, crossed the frontage road, and struck the home on Green Valley Road on July 25th.
The eight-month-old was inside the home as it was struck.
A fund has been set up for the family of the victim.
