APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Activities at a senior citizens’ center in Appleton are on pause following a fire.
The Thompson Center on Lourdes has canceled classes from Aug. 22 through Sept. 2 in the wake of a fire last week at the St. Bernadette Center, where the Thompson Center is housed.
Line dancing on Aug. 25 and Sept. 1 remains on the schedule, however.
Center leaders say cleanup and restoration could take several months. In the meantime, the Thompson Center is looking for alternate options to make as many programs as possible available.
Patrons can keep updated through the center’s website, Facebook page, phone calls and emails.
No one was injured in the fire.
