GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The attorney for the 15-year-old charged in a murder in a pharmacy parking lot may request to have the case moved to juvenile court.
Jeremiah Robinson, then 15, allegedly shot and killed a 31-year-old man Feb. 18 outside the Walgreens store on the corner of Oneida and Mason streets.
In Wisconsin, those between 10 and 16 years and charged with homicide are prosecuted in adult court. But attorneys can petition for what’s called a “reverse waiver hearing,” in the attempt to have the case moved to juvenile court. Such requests would be reviewed by a judge and not automatically granted.
Attorney Michael Balskus said in court Tuesday he may file such a motion, but has not done so.
No trial date has been set. Robinson, 16, returns to court Oct. 3 for a status conference.
According to the criminal complaint, Robinson and another man, Jeromy Finke, got into a confrontation with the victim and another man over money during a drug deal. Robinson told police the dispute carried over to the outside of the store, and he shot the victim in self-defense after being threatened with brass knuckles.
The criminal complaint says the victim, identified only by his initials, was shot four times.
