ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) — Packers ticket prices have been falling over the past few weeks.
It’s good news for bargain hunters, but not so for Packers fans writ large.
Ticket King Manager Travis Loftus says prices have been falling alongside the play of the team.
“It’s pretty unprecedented for us to have a five-game losing streak,” Loftus told WTAQ. “Unfortunately along with that losing streak, the price of tickets go down.”
Prices for Sunday’s matchup with the Dallas Cowboys–the homecoming of former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, is now selling at $200 for the cheapest ticket.
At the beginning of the season, that same ticket was $400.
Loftus hopes the play doesn’t stay poor.
“Hopefully that’s not the trend, but if it is, we just end up making less money and the season ticket holders end up making less money,” Loftus said. “The good thing with the NFL is that you can turn things around pretty quickly with free agency and the draft, if you hit. The big thing is going to be whether or not Aaron Rodgers sticks around for another year.”
A real long-term ticket price slump would be unprecedented, as the Packers have largely been a competitive team for the past 30 years.
