OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – An April 3 trial date has been set for one suspect in a Neenah murder, while another man arrested during the investigation was sentenced on an unrelated charge.
Mandel Roy is charged with felony murder for the April, 2021, death of Rodger Ridgeway outside a Neenah tavern. A three-day trial was scheduled at a hearing Friday, court records show.
Terran Colwell has already been sentenced to three years in prison for her role in the murder.
According to the criminal complaint, Ridgeway’s mother got into a confrontation with those inside a bar. After he arrived there was another altercation, and Ridgeway was stabbed.
“The evidence obtained by Neenah Police Department investigators shows that Mandel Roy began fighting with (Ridgeway), committing at least a battery, using a blunt weapon. Terran Colwell also became involved in the fight likely stabbing (Ridgeway) with a knife, causing injuries that resulted in (Ridgeway‘s) death. Roy and Caldwell continue to fight with (Ridgeway) even after his apparent attempt to get away, “ Roy‘s criminal complaint states.
Ridgeway suffered five stab wounds to the upper chest and neck areas.
During the investigation, Charles Hoofman, was charged with possession of a firearm by an out-of-state felon. Hoofman was convicted and sentenced Thursday to 60 days in jail, court records show.
