GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A Green Bay truck driver is celebrating 3 million miles of safe driving.
Tom Fullerton is a driver for the trucking company XPO Logistics, which recognizes its drivers for accomplishments like this.
According to XPO, it would take 60,000 hours and nearly 30 years of driving to reach this total. It’s also the equivalent of roughly 120 trips around the world. And all without an accident.
“The other day, they were telling me how many trips to the moon and back that is, and it’s kinda sunk in,” said Fullerton. “But, like I was telling you earlier, for 30 years, this has been one of my career goals — that I wanted to make 3 million miles without an accident.”
Because of Fullerton’s time in the Marines, he is receiving a specially wrapped camouflage truck.
Over 200 other drivers at XPO are receiving a million mile award this year. Collectively, the drivers have covered over 318 million miles without accidents.
