NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Future Neenah, Inc. is embodying its motto, “Our future, our Neenah,” as it celebrates its 40th anniversary.
The organization, which seeks to improve the quality of life throughout the Neenah area, celebrated Thursday by unearthing a time capsule buried in 2003.
While it was first buried in 2003, some of the items go back to the 1920s — like a city map from 1924.
From a picture of the first tree planted downtown to a Copps grocery store receipt, Neenah was taking a step into the past as it looked to the future.
Future Neenah is looking to bring even greater community impact and energy in its 40th year.
Events for the year include farmers markets, concerts at Shattuck Park, Boogie Downtown and more. And coming this fall, Future Neenah will be hosting a 40th Anniversary Gala.
