(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers managed just 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 12 times in losing the series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1 in Toronto on Thursday.
Toronto took a 3-0 lead in the first inning off Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta with a home run by Bo Bichette and then a 2-run home run by Matt Chapman with Daulton Varsho on board.
Peralta now 5-5 settle down after that, going 6 innings and allowing 3 runs on 6 hit and 2 walks. He struck out 3.
The Brewers got their only run in the ninth inning on a triple by Rowdy Tellez. Tellez then scored when Brian Anderson grounded into a double play.
Kevin Gausman pitched the first 6 2/3 innings and got the win, giving up 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 11.
A pair of Toronto relievers pitched the final 2 1/3 innings.
The Brewers continue their road trip tomorrow, opening a weekend series against the Cincinnati Reds in Cincinnati.
