MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two Manitowoc women have been sentenced in federal court for their role in a fentanyl operation.
Manitowoc County sheriff’s officials say a Metro Drug Unit investigation revealed Ashley Schroeder, 31, was traveling to the Milwaukee area to buy fentanyl and then distribute it in the Manitowoc area. She admitted doing this beginning in summer 2020 through September 2021. Investigators estimate she bought 300-800 grams of fentanyl when she would make the trips two or three times per week. During each trip, she would buy $500-$600 worth of the drug.
Investigators identified Amanda Adelmann, 34, as a co-conspirator in distributing fentanyl in the Manitowoc area.
The investigation also led to federal charges against several drug suppliers in the Milwaukee area, with authorities seizing a kilogram of fentanyl and several guns.
Schroeder was sentenced May 10 to four years in prison, followed by eight years of supervised release.
Adelmann was sentenced June 13 to four years in prison, followed by six years of supervised release.
