GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A replacement ride at Bay Beach could open this weekend.
According to its Facebook page, Bay Beach says The Sea Dragon could take on riders for the first time this year on Saturday.
Costly repairs prompted crews to take it down and replace it with another used Sea Dragon ride — same year, make and model as the original.
It will be a welcome sight for some park goers who may have noticed some of their other favorite rides have been closed.
The park offered some updates on those rides:
- The park’s roller coaster, Zippin Pippin was closed this week but will be open after 3:30 p.m. Thursday
- The Scat was closed on June 10 because crews are still waiting on a part
- The Ferris Wheel was closed on June 16, also waiting on a part
- The East Train has been closed because the tracks need to be replaced from winter damage off the bay
- The Slide has been closed because of construction from the new ride
- The Bay Beast will be installed after the Sea Dragon
“Parts are taking longer than we would like, but please know that we all would love to have every ride open daily, however that is not how it has gone this year and we appreciate your understanding as some things are out of our control,” Bay Beach wrote.
