GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One Green Bay community center is helping foster the love of reading, one page at a time.
Howe Community Resource Center announced the launch of the “Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.”
The program promotes childhood literacy by providing free books, delivered directly to homes.
Children five and under who are registered will receive an age-appropriate book each month.
The books range from classics to new releases and also include picture books.
Dolly Parton started Imagination Library in 1995, inspired to make a difference after growing up with a father who couldn’t read or write.
Since then it has distributed more than 200 million books worldwide.
Registration for children in zip codes 54301 and 54302 is now underway.
