OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Thanks to a pair of grants, Oshkosh students in need will have access to after-school and summer programs.
The Oshkosh Area School District says it received more than $200,000 in grants from the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Title IV-B program.
Oaklawn Elementary was awarded $130,000 to offer new summer programming to nearly 100 students each day. Staffing and partnership support will be provided by the Oshkosh YMCA.
Jefferson Elementary will use its $80,000 grant to renew its after-school program for another five years to serve about 50 students each day in partnership with support from the Boys and Girls Club of Oshkosh.
The Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers Title IV-B program is funded by a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Education and administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
