GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Greenville man admitted damaging more than a dozen vehicles at a Wisconsin Timber Rattlers game Friday night because he had gotten into a dispute with another fan and had a “temper tantrum,” prosecutors allege.
Clint Freeberg, 31, has been charged with felony criminal damage to property.
According to the criminal complaint, Freeberg was identified through anonymous tips after video of the vandalism was posted on social media.
The complaint says:
Clint said he was “talking (expletive)” with a girl and thought she was hanging out with a guy that owned this vehicle that he was talking about damaging it.
Freeberg initially admitted to vandalizing one vehicle, but after prodding from police, eventually conceded that he had used a key to scratch more vehicles. Police said they received 18 or 19 complaints.
Clint said, “I got really (expletive) off and I keyed vehicles, I’m sorry.” (Police) asked Clint why, and explained he wasn’t a teenager. Clint said he knew and that he had a “temper tantrum”. Clint said it was “embarrassing as (expletive)” and that he wanted to call the police and own up to it than having his face keep being put around on Facebook.
Damage to one of the vehicles was estimated at nearly $4,200, according to the complaint.
If convicted, Freeberg faces up to three and a half years in prison.
