WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two people were arrested in the city of Waupaca on Friday after police were dispatched to a home on Ware Street around 2:45 p.m. for two people who had overdosed.
According to the Waupaca Police Department, while officers were arriving on scene, they were advised that a person inside the home “had a gun and possibly discharged it.” It was later determined, however, that no shots were fired.
One person in the residence came outside after verbal commands were given and was detained.
The Waupaca County SWAT team then entered the home and found another individual who was unconscious but breathing. Narcan was administered to the unconscious individual and transported to Waupaca ThedaCare for observation.
The suspect who allegedly pointed the gun was not at the scene, but was taken into custody at a different location around 5:15 p.m. without incident.
Officials say there is no danger to the public.
