It was deuces driving Milwaukee Brewers Manager Craig Counsell wild in the series opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers Tuesday night. L.A. ended Milwaukee’s four game winning streak with their ninth consecutive victory, 6-2. The Brewers managed 2 runs on just 2 hits and committed 2 errors in the loss. Christian Yelich opened the game with a knock off Dodger starter Bobby Miller and he would score on a Sal Frelick ground out for the 1-0 lead. That would be all Miller would allow through six innings. Adrian Houser started strong for the Crew but gave up a run in the 5th. A throwing error by Andruw Monasterio in the bottom of the sixth opened the floodgates for a five run Dodger rally. Carlos Santana smashed a 442 foot home run to left field off reliever Ryan Yarbrough in the top of the 7th for Milwaukee’s only other hit. Houser lasted five and a third innings, giving up five hits and only three earned runs. Hoby Milner and Bryse Wilson were touched for runs in the Dodgers’ big inning. The Brewers now stand at 65-55 but maintained a three and a half game lead in the NL Central as both the Reds and Cubs lost. Cleveland shut out Cincinnati 3-0 while the Cubs lost to the White Sox 5-3. Wade Miley will face Clayton Kershaw in game two of the series Wednesday night. Pre-game coverage begins at 8:35 PM with a 9:10 PM first pitch on WTAQ.
