BROWN CO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Brown County Board of Supervisors approved a pay increase for 911 dispatchers on Wednesday night.
The County has been struggling with staffing levels as of late, with 13 of the 54 positions currently open.
Wednesday’s approval provides an additional $615,000 dollars of compensation that will come in the form of base pay increases and one-time bonuses.
Right now, starting dispatcher wage is just under $22 an hour. The new starting pay will be increased to $25 an hour.
The increase is expected to take effect next month.
