Fatal Plane Crash Under Investigation

TOWN OF HELVETIA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – One person is dead after the airplane they were flying overturned while landing, according to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office says the call came in at 12:57 p.m. Saturday for an airplane crash at the Central County Airport.

The identity of the pilot is not being released until family is notified.

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, Iola Fire Department, Iola Ambulance, Waupaca County Medical Examiner, Michigan State Police, National Transportation Safety Board, and the Federal Aviation Administration are assisting in the investigation.
