STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Door County Candle Company continues to ignite support for those affected by the devastating Hawaii wildfires.
Less than two weeks after announcing its signature Maui Candle, the company has raised more than $30,000 and counting.
100% of the proceeds from purchased Maui Candles go to the American Red Cross as part of the Door County Candle Company’s “Candles Creating Change” initiative.
Maui Candles are scented like Hawaiian passionfruit and cost $27.95 each.
The company said it has had customers drive over four hours just to get the Maui Candle.
Door County Candle Company launched its philanthropic efforts in February 2022 after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, when it began selling blue and yellow vanilla-scented candles. That fundraiser raised more than $1 million for a Ukrainian non-profit organization.
The company has previously created special candles benefitting UNICEF and Hurricane Ian relief.
