MARINETTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Chicago man with a history of selling drugs in the Marinette County community learned his sentence in an overdose death.
Chandon Geralds, 41, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in the death of Casey Ashburn in Niagara in January of 2021.
Investigators say Geralds sold heroin laced with fentanyl to another person, which ultimately ended up being given to Ashburn.
The other three co-defendants in the case, Jack Sigel, Travis Ambrosius and Adam Recla, were previously sentenced for their connection to the reckless homicide and are currently serving sentences in prison.
During sentencing, prosecutors noted Geralds had been dealing drugs as early as 2019 and had continued to deal to people in the upper Marinette County/Iron Mountain area until his arrest in June of 2021.
Geralds was also convicted in a separate incident of drug possession.
