GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Green Bay Packers beat the New Orleans Saints 18-17 to win their 2023 home opener at Lambeau Field. It’s the 11th home opener the team has won in a row. But while players were staging a fourth quarter comeback, Green Bay Police were kept busy responding to 16 calls for service at the stadium.
The Green Bay Police Department reports they made two arrests during the game, and four people were ejected from the stadium for various misconduct violations.
The first game of the season also had fans needing to update the Packers app on their cell phones in order to properly access their e-tickets to the first home game of the season.
Green Bay Police also remind fans that when entering the stadium, fans can enter most gates. Fans are encouraged to monitor the lines and enter gates with shorter lines to save time on your entry.
Officers also say they are continually turning away prohibited bags and items at the gate that will slow the lines down and cause fans to return to their vehicles or discard the prohibited items. Check the Packers website for what it allowed to be brought into the stadium and other gameday information.
