SUAMICO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The NEW Zoo in Suamico is reaching new heights with its latest addition.
Next week, the zoo is welcoming a new giraffe.
Adding a new giraffe was part of the zoo’s plan after the giraffe exhibit expanded earlier this year.
The zoo is inviting the community to help welcome the new giraffe to its new home on Oct. 10. Those who come will be able to see the specially modified trailer and truck as it transports the new giraffe through the zoo and to the Giraffe Lodge, where the giraffe will be allowed to enter the building with some privacy and given time to adjust to its new home.
Although the exact date and time of the giraffe’s arrival may change based on weather conditions and other factors, the tentative arrival time is set for between noon and 1 p.m. on Oct. 10.
