DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A West De Pere high school counselor was recognized for her exemplary work with students.
The Wisconsin School Counselor Association presented the Wisconsin Counselor of the Year Award to West De Pere high school counselor, Lisa Boyd.
On Wednesday, the school held a surprise ceremony for her.
Boyd says she knew she was nominated this past summer but was surprised to learn she won.
“I do this because I like students, I like to work with families, I like connections and relationships and I like to be able to assist whenever I can,” she said.
Boyd has been in education for 38 years. Twenty of those years she has been with West De Pere. She previously taught in the Wrightstown School District and at Bay Port High School.
