(WNFL) – The Green Bay Phoenix men’s basketball team outscored Wright State 48-33 in the second half to notch an 88-77 Friday afternoon at the Resch Center.
Trailing 44-40 at halftime, the Phoenix shot 68 percent from the floor in the second half to surge past the Raiders.
The Phoenix trailed by 9 with 14:21 left in the game before going on a 10-1 run to tie the game 60-60 on a 3-point play by Noah Reynolds.
Then trailing 70-68 with 7:30 remaining, Reynolds hit a 3-point basket to launch Green Bay on a 20-7 run to close out the game.
Reynolds led the Phoenix with 39 points. Rich Byhre added 17.
Tanner Holden and Trey Calvin both scored 23 points for Wright State (6-7 overall, 1-1 Horizon League).
The Phoenix (7-7 overall, 2-1 Horizon League) will host Robert Morris at noon on Sunday at the Resch Center.
