BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s agriculture ministry issued guidelines on Friday to promote biotech cultivation from 2024 to 2028, a ministry statement showed.
The focus will be on developing precision gene-editing tools with independent intellectual property and enhancing key cultivation technologies, the statement said.
The plan also includes cultivating high-yield, high-quality, multi-resistant, and adaptable varieties of rice, wheat, corn, saline-tolerant crops, and high-oil soybeans.
