(GREEN BAY ATHLETICS) INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the second time in her career, Maddy Schreiber has been named Player of the Week. The Horizon League made the announcement on Monday afternoon.
It is the sixth different week this season that a Phoenix has been tabbed the accolade, the most in the conference. No other team has more than two.
Last week combined between two contests (both wins) against Cleveland State and Milwaukee, Maddy scored 34 points in just 43 minutes, shot 12-for-15 overall, and 8-for-8 from distance. Her 18 points (in 20 minutes) against the Panthers on Saturday led all players. She also eclipsed 1,000 career points against Milwaukee after drilling a pair of free throws early in the second quarter. The Kimberly High School product helped extend Green Bay’s win streak to 18, which is tied for the second-longest in the country.
Schreiber, who previously won Player of the Week on November 11, 2024, has played off the bench in all eight games since her return from injury on January 30. In that span, she has averaged 11.5 points, 1.75 assists, and 2.75 rebounds per contest. Additionally, she has shot 34-for-63 (53.96 percent) overall, 15-for-25 (60 percent) from beyond the arc, and a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe since her return.
Schreiber will be among seven seniors honored this Saturday at the Kress Center against Purdue Fort Wayne. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets and help sell out the Kress in what will be a battle for the number one seed against the Mastodons.
