MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Lakeshore Humane Society is inching closer to breaking ground on a new facility.
Leaders within the organization hope to break ground on a new facility in June. They say if they wait, the cost will only increase so it would be better to break ground sooner rather than later.
So far the nonprofit has raised over $2.5 million with a $3.80 million goal. On the humane society’s website they write: “It is urgent that we build a safe and efficient facility to care for the pets we are trying to save.”
The new facility will benefit staff, volunteers, animals and potential adopting families.
To help meet this goal the humane society is hosting its 4th Viva Paws Vegas event. It’s taking place at the Inn on Maritime Bay from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 29.
