FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Authorities arrested a 31-year-old Menomonee Falls man on a slew of charges after a three-county vehicle pursuit Tuesday.
It began just after 4 p.m., when the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was advised by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office that they had just terminated a chase on I-41, near State Highway 28, on the border of Dodge and Washington counties. Deputies from Washington County requested assistance from Fond du Lac sheriff’s deputies to attempt to stop the vehicle.
At 4:20 p.m., a sergeant with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle traveling south on State Highway 175, near County Highway F, in the township of Byron. The sergeant attempted to stop the vehicle, but it increased its speeds, beginning another pursuit.
The chase went south on State Highway 175 into Dodge County and continued south through Lomira. A Dodge County deputy joined the Fond du Lac County sergeant in the pursuit.
Another deputy with Fond du Lac County deployed tire deflation devices near State Highway 28, but the driver observed them in the roadway and turned around before striking them, heading back north on State Highway 175.
The vehicle continued north before finally pulling over on State Highway 175 near County Highway AH in Dodge County.
The Menomonee Falls man was the lone occupant of the vehicle. He was arrested without further incident and transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail. He is being held on charges of:
- First-degree recklessly endangering safety
- Felony fleeing / eluding
- Misdemeanor bail jumping
- Operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense
- Probation hold
The pursuit lasted a total of 9 miles. No injuries were sustained and no civilian or law enforcement vehicles sustained any damages.
