(LEARFIELD) MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The Badgers football program has lost the recruitment battle for Wisconsin’s top high school prospect to the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Offensive tackle Gavin Meier has given UW’s hated rivals a verbal commitment this week.
Meier had a dozen offers from Division I programs.
He still has an official visit scheduled for Madison in June, but it isn’t known if he will take it following Wednesday’s announcement.
