(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers got 2 hits and 3 RBI from Christian Yelich in a 5-3 win over the Athletics Friday night at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
Chad Durbin who was just called up from Triple-A Nashville to be the Brewers regular third baseman also had 2 hits.
Freddy Peralta started and pitched 5 shutout innings, allowing 7 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5 to get the win.
Trevor McGill got the final 2 outs of the game to get the save after the Athletics had rallied to within 5-3.
JT Ginn took the loss for Oakland.
The two teams meet again tonight.
The Brewers will send Chad Patrick (1-0, 1.76 ERA) to the mound.
The Athletics will counter with Luis Severino (0-3, 4.01 ERA).
