KESHENA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A 10-hour standoff resulted in the arrest of a Keshena man who allegedly fired multiple times at law enforcement.
The incident began Tuesday shortly after 7 a.m. when the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a property on Spirit Island Road as part of an ongoing investigation.
“During the initial attempts to secure the property, deputies encountered gunfire from a subject inside the structure,” a news release states.
Additional agencies were called to assist in what ultimately became a standoff spanning 10 hours. Throughout the incident, “officers experienced multiple instances of gunfire directed in their vicinity.” No one was hurt.
Just before 5:30 p.m., a 60-year-old Keshena man was arrested. Criminal charges are being referred to the Shawano/Menominee County District Attorney’s Office.
