(WTAQ-WLUK) – Federal prosecutors have added child pornography production charges against a Mishicot teacher who allegedly had a sexual relationship with a student.
Ryan Schroeder faces 19 charges in state court, including ten counts of possession of child pornography, repeated sexual assault of the same child, second-degree sexual assault, and sexual assault of a student by school staff member. He returns to court June 17 in that case.
The federal case was filed Tuesday, with two counts for offenses in August and September of 2023.
Schroeder “knowingly employed, used, persuaded, induced, enticed, and coerced Jane Doe A, a minor, to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct, which visual depiction was produced using materials that had been mailed, shipped, and transported in and affecting interstate and foreign commerce by any means.”
No court date is listed for an appearance in federal court.
According to the criminal complaint in state court, the encounters started about Aug. 1, 2023, and continued into this year. The girl was 14 when the assaults began.
“Schroeder admitted he was having sexual intercourse with VICTIM 1 since 2023, continuously through 2025, and most recently at the end of March 2025. Schroeder admitted having sexual intercourse with VICTIM 1 over 50 separate times with VICTIM 1 from 2023-2025. Schroeder admitted to having sexual intercourse with VICTIM 1 inside of Mishicot High School over 10 times from 2023-2025,” the complaint states.
Some of the videos show the two engaged in sexual activities. There are also “selfie” photos, showing the girl in states of undress.
The complaint also identifies a second victim. Schroeder and that female exchanged nude photos, the complaint alleges.
