(WTAQ-WLUK) — Here is what Northeast Wisconsin’s congressional delegation is saying after the budget bill dubbed by President Donald Trump as the “big, beautiful bill” passed the House of Representatives overnight.
U.S. Rep. Tony Wied (R-8th District)
Over the last few months, House Republicans have worked hand in hand with President Trump to craft One Big Beautiful Bill that will extend tax cuts for hard-working families, secure our border, unleash American energy, protect Medicaid and SNAP for the most vulnerable Americans, and reign in out-of-control federal spending. I was proud to support this bill, which will greatly benefit middle class Americans and small businesses around this country. President Trump and Congressional Republicans were sent to Washington with a mandate to lead and we are making good on our promises to the American people. I look forward to continuing our work to enact the President’s agenda and Making America Great Again.
U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-6th District)
The One Big, Beautiful Bill Act is set to prevent the largest tax hike in American history.
I’m fighting to ensure #WI06 families, small businesses & manufacturers keep more of what they earn. These tax cuts work—@HouseGOP just voted to extend them and protect your paycheck. pic.twitter.com/l0Ir50JhFx

U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisconsin)
In the middle of the night to hide from the American people, Republicans jammed through a bill that terminates healthcare for more than 220,000 Wisconsinites, slashes funding for food assistance, and tilts the scales of our already unfair tax system more in favor of big corporations. This is not what the people of Wisconsin signed up for and you can bet I’m going to fight it.
The 1,116-page bill goes to the Senate for a final vote, and Republican leaders hope to have it signed into law by July 4.
