GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Starting next month, Green Bay Metro will launch its new on demand service enhancements.
GBM On Demand is a flexible public microtransit service that allows riders to request trips in real time.
GBM is consolidating the separate Daytime zones into one large service area, giving riders more freedom and flexibility to ride to/from anywhere within the Daytime zone, including transfer points, Monday-Friday 5:15am-6:45pm or Saturday 7:45am-1:45pm.
Instead of following fixed routes and schedules, GBM On Demand uses smaller vehicles to provide corner-to-corner service, making it easier for riders to get where they need to go, when they need to be there.
“Green Bay Metro is committed to providing reliable, accessible, and innovative transit options for our community,” said Patty Kiewiz, Green Bay Metro Transit Director. “These changes reflect our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of Green Bay residents and visitors.”
Riders can book trips using a smartphone app or by phone. Eligible paratransit riders can also access paratransit or GBM On Demand rides within the same GBM Transit app.
