(LEARFIELD) – Class of 2025 recruit Hayden Jones will be playing for the wisconins Badgers soon, but he put on a show at the U-19 FIBA World Cup first.
Jones was playing for his home country, New Zealand.
He led the team in scoring and rebounding, topping 20 points in two games against international competition.
He averaged 14-point-6 points and 7-point-7 rebounds.
New Zealand grabbed the bronze trophy for third place with Jones leading the way.
Crowl signs with Utah: Former Badgers center Steven Crowl has signed an agreement with the NBA’s Utah Jazz.
Crowl played four seasons for coach Greg Gard, helping Wisconsin win the 2022 Big Ten regular-season title.
He averaged just under 10 points and about five-and-a-half rebounds per game.
Crowl joins two more former Badgers – John Tonje and Micah Potter – on the Jazz.
Preseason polls: ESPN has released its latest preseason poll, which shows the Badgers ranked 20th.
That’s the same as the last poll a month ago.
The way the team’s rotation will shake out will become clearer in the coming weeks.
Coach Greg Gard has rebuilt his roster with the additions of guard Nick Boyd, wing Andrew Rohde, forward Austin Rapp, guard Braeden Carrington, and Gray.
Carrington and Gray are expected to be bench players.
